Safety Policy

OUR DRIVERS

We ensure that every single one of our drivers has enhanced DBS (CRB) check. We feel this is important for any journey they take, regardless of the passengers on board.
In addition to this, all of our Mint Coaches drivers are provided with specific training on safety in and out of our vehicles on a regular basis, and are kept up to date with any new safety legislation.
We only employ drivers who have an outstanding safety record on the road, and who have the right mind-set to implement our policies as representatives of the company.

SAFEGUARDING

We work with a lot of schools and youth organisations in and around London, to provide effective coach hire to and from events.
In addition to our stringent DBS (CRB) checks, we also make sure all of our drivers complete training to ensure they understand the needs of all out customers.
Although we do not supply coaches with disabled access, many of our vehicles can accommodate those with specific needs e.g. elderly.

STAYING SAFE ON THE ROAD

Before any vehicle even leaves our yard, it will have had at least one comprehensive safety check. These are carried out by the driver, and are recorded on a safety sheet which is given straight to our head office.
This means that any possible defects can be identified as early as possible, and gives us enough time to replace your coach if necessary. Furthermore, every single one of our 10-57 seater coaches and minibus are fitted with three point seatbelts throughout; these are tested for durability on a regular basis and are scrutinised at every level of coach maintenance.

JOURNEY PLANNING

Here at YG Travel, we not only ensure that you get to your destination quickly, but safely. We organise your journey with safety at the forefront of our minds, ensuring that our driver can navigate safety through the roads.
Moreover, we have fitted all of our buses with satellite navigation technology, so we can track your entire journey, from the moment your coach leaves our yard. This also enables us to see how far you are from your location, giving our driver exact timings, in addition to their Sat-Nav.
This also helps drivers when they drive in sometimes unfamiliar territory.

Lastly, by using specialist Tachograph equipment, we can monitor the speed of all our drivers. This shows us how often they have taken their breaks (these are required by law), but also highlights how well they are driving our vehicles. We take any infringements on this very seriously, and have a specific disciplinary process for those who unfortunately may not comply.

Environment Policy

YG TRAVEL IS ONE OF THE GREENEST WAYS TO TRAVEL

If you’re thinking about travelling by coach then you’re already doing your bit for the environment. Just travelling by coach causes less pollution, per person per kilometre, than it would do travelling as a group on a train or in a car.

YG Travel is proud to provide coach hire for many occasions; take, for example, a music festival. With thousands of people travelling by car to one specific location, miles and the pollution can quickly add up. Travelling by coach can be one simple way to curb this; we provide 10-70 seater coaches and minibus, so that your group can travel, with ease, and reduce the emissions that pollute our planet.

We have ensured that every one of our coaches has the latest Euro IV and V engines, meaning that they comply specifically with European regulations on emissions. However, we are proud to say that one of our new 49 seater coaches will be fitted with a brand new Euro VI engine, meaning that will emit less emissions per mile than ever before.

We also meet new regulations set by Transport for London. As a London based coach company, we work within the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ). To achieve this, we not only ensure that all our coaches are LEZ compliant, but we also use specialised catalytic converters and ‘Add Blue’ technology to further reduce our emissions throughout our fleet.

In addition to this, all of our drivers are trained to use the most eco-friendly routes; meaning that you pay less whilst helping the planet. Our specially trained employees find not only the quickest route, but also the route that will involve using less emissions and therefore lessening any potential pollution.

However, one of the simplest ways that we have started to help the environment is to significantly reduce our paper trail. We use computer programmes to manage and organise our coach fleet, and, where possible, we use e-mail and telephone correspondence. In addition to this, we are working with our operations department to ensure that all of our vehicle engineers are managing their waste effectively. This means that our contractors, as well as our office workers and drivers always recycle and use recycled materials where possible.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO MY INFORMATION?

The information you provide is controlled by the Data Controller YG Travel. Employees of YG Travel Ltd are only permitted to access the personal information you provide during the course of communications with us.

WHAT DO WE COLLECT AND HOW IS IT USED?

When you choose to request a coach hire quotation from us, we need your name, email address and telephone number. This information is used to contact you with the cost of the coach or minibus hire quotation based on your needs.

When you choose to contact us through a web form, we need your name and email address. This information is used to contact you if we need to respond to your question.

We may use your personal information in the prevention and detection of fraud.

WHAT DATA DO WE KEEP, FOR HOW LONG AND HOW IS IT STORED?

We retain all information provided to us during the course of creating a quotation or booking initially to ensure we can communicate clearly with you and subsequently for analytical reasons. At this time we do not directly market previous customers. Should this change in the future we will offer customers the ability to opt out of receiving such communications before they commence.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

We take all reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is stored safely on our servers. Only employees and associates of YG Travel who handle the technical management of our website can access your information. In accordance with GDPR legislation we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information you provide to prevent unauthorised access. Our procedures mean we may occasionally request proof of identity before disclosing information to you.

DISCLOSE OF INFORMATION TO 3RD PARTIES

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. If we choose to do so in the future, you will be notified by email of our intentions, and have the right to be removed prior to the disclosure.

We do however capture cookie information and analytical data which is shared with Google Analytics.
